It is now 1945 and the 501st Joint Fighter Wing a.k.a. the Strike Witches, have successfully defended Gallia and Romagna from the Neuroi. With their duty complete, 501st has disbanded and its members have returned home.
Miyafuji Yoshika, who lost her magic in the battle for Romagna has returned to her homeland of Fusou and studies medicine, still determined to do what she can to help others.
During this time, she is visited by Fusou Naval Cadet Hattori Shizuka who offers Yoshika the opportunity to study in Europe. Yoshika readily agrees and, together with Shizuka, departs for Europe from Yokosuka.
